The CyberSmart MSP Survey 2025
CyberSmart's 2025 global survey of 900 MSP leaders finds 69% breached two or more times in the last 12 months (47% three or more), yet 76% still describe their cyber confidence as complete or above average. AI has overtaken ransomware as the top-rated threat to clients (both cited by 38%, alongside insider threats 35% and unpatched vulnerabilities 32%). 84% of MSPs now manage clients' cybersecurity infrastructure — or their combined cybersecurity and IT estate — and are investing heavily in security and regulatory capabilities (81% more on specialist security hires, 78% on security tooling, 60% on regulatory hires, 64% on regulatory capabilities) as NIS2, Essential 8, and the UK Cyber Security & Resilience Bill land. 45% keep a dedicated ransomware-payment budget; supply-chain attacks are underestimated (only 15% cite them as a major concern).
