The Promise of Cyber: Global Future of Cyber Survey, 4th Edition
Deloitte's 4th Global Future of Cyber Survey polls ~1,200 cyber decision-makers across 43 countries and six industries at organizations with ≥1,000 employees and ≥US$500M revenue. It finds cybersecurity is now deeply integrated with business strategy and digital transformation: high-cyber-maturity organizations are 2.4x more likely to expect positive outcomes and achieve business outcomes 27 percentage points more on average than peers. 57% expect to increase cybersecurity budgets in the next 12–24 months, and 58% will integrate cyber spend with digital transformation, IT and cloud budgets (organizations spend ~19% of IT budget / ~US$39M on cyber). Loss of confidence in tech integrity has become the #1 negative consequence of incidents, ahead of operational disruption and reputational loss; 40% publicly reported 6–10 breaches in the past year. Boards are engaging more (88% quarterly), and CISOs are increasingly pulled into strategic conversations on cloud (48%), GenAI (41%) and data analytics (41%). Top GenAI-related risks among leaders: explainability (82%), information integrity (81%), human-AI control design (81%), data poisoning (80%); 39% already use AI in cyber programs to a large extent. 83% are assessing quantum-related risks or acting on them. Report recommends "security by design," CISO-CFO partnership to translate cyber to business impact, and integrating cyber budgets with digital transformation.
