The BlackCat/ALPHV ransomware-as-a-service operation, run by actors tracked by CrowdStrike as ALPHA SPIDER. From late 2021 it recruited affiliates to steal data and encrypt Windows, Linux, and ESXi systems until coordinated law-enforcement disruptions and an apparent 2024 exit scam fractured the program.
